PMEA Honors Orchestra
PMEA Orchestras Students in 10-12th grades have the opportunity to participate in PMEA Sr. High District Orchestra, which will take place in February at North Allegheny High School. Congratulations to the following students for being accepted to participate in the upcoming 2009 festival: Leah Dutton, cello; Greg Goodman, viola; Megan Haughney, violin; Chris Kang, violin; Chris Koter, bass; Christina McCabe, violin; Tim Napoli, viola; Will Oestreich, viola; Mike Park, cello; Erin Smith, violin; Philip Song, violin; Dasun Wang, viola; Laura Waroblak, bass; Peter Wu, violin; Liyang Yu, violin; Kyle Zhu, violin. Students in 9th grade have the opportunity to participate in PMEA Jr. High District Orchestra, which will take place in January at Pine Richland High School. Congratulations to Sarah Miller, violin and Danielle Runzo, cello for being accepted to participate this year! Some of our students advanced on to PMEA Western Region-State Orchestra. Last year, this festival was held at Bethel Park High School in March and featured some of the best high school musicians across western Pennsylvania. Congratulations to the following students for advancing on to this level in 2008: Anne Caruso, cello; Andrew Ho, violin; Steven Kang, violin; Jeffrey Lin, cello; Sean Radermacher, violin; Erin Smith, violin; Hannah Snyder, viola. The Pennsylvania All-State Orchestra was held from April 16-19, 2008 in Hershey, PA. This festival features some of the best musicians from across the state. Congratulations to all SEVEN of our students for advancing on to this level: Anne Caruso, cello; Andrew Ho, violin; Steven Kang, violin; Jeffrey Lin, cello; Sean Radermacher, violin; Erin Smith, violin; Hannah Snyder, viola. WVU Honors Orchestra Students from NAI and NASH were selected to participate in the WVU Honors Orchestra festival held at West Virginia University in March. This unique event featured high school musicians from across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, and Virginia. Our students prepared music, rehearsed and performed with the conductor of the West Virginia University Orchestra, worked with WVU music professors, and attended a West Virginia University Orchestra concert.
