About the North Allegheny Orchestra Parents Association
What is the North Allegheny Orchestra Parents Association? We're a non-profit, parent-based organization that works with our music department to help our students achieve musical excellence. NAOPA is the "booster group" for orchestra students in grades 9-12.
Orchestra students at North Allegheny participate in: * Elementary Orchestra (Grades 3-5) * Middle School Orchestra (Grades 6-8) * High School String Orchestra (Grades 9-12) * High School Honors Chamber Orchestra (Grades 9-10) * High School Honors Chamber Orchestra (Grades 11-12) * Golden Strolling Strings (Grades 9-12) * NA Fiddlers (Grades 6-12)
What does the NAOPA support? * Performance Trips for the high school ensembles * Orchestra Banquet, recognizing student achievements * An annual Golden Strolling Strings scholarship * Guest musicians and special groups (Cello Fury, Barrage, etc.) * Opportunities with electrified string instruments * Special opportunities in music education for all levels, as requested by the faculty of the North Allegheny orchestra department
